Our approach

We combined minimalist design with luxurious print finishes to create an invitation designed to intrigue.

Our brief

Zeitgeist is Google’s annual thought leadership event, hosting 200 of the world’s most influential thinkers. We were asked to produce an invitation that would inspire these in-demand guests to attend.

Design

We created a simple, elegant visual identity system that felt both contemporary and premium. For the printed invite, copper foil and an unusually thick stock lent the invite a sense of substance. 

The unique opening mechanism on the envelope and intriguing strapline were designed to pique the recipient’s curiosity. The hand-finished invite combined high-end print finishes, hand-written details and a simple design aesthetic. 

We created a digital version too, with the simplicity of the visual system making it easy to take in on screen.

Outcome

The response rate from the invitations was significantly higher than in previous years, helping the 2016 event to be the best attended Zeitgeist to date.
