Motion Designer

We’re looking for a Motion Designer with a mind that moves different. Someone obsessed with their craft, full of ideas and completely committed to making world-class work. A creative who gets that great motion design is rooted in storytelling.

About the role

You’ll play a key role in shaping our motion output, working on projects at all stages of the process. You’ll bring a strong point of view and the confidence to lead motion from concept through to final delivery, obsessing over the detail and collaborating with project teams throughout.

You’ll take ownership of your work, managing ideas and deliverables to create motion systems that extend brand worlds. You’ll work closely with the team to articulate the value of motion whilst helping to push our motion capabilities forward.

You’ll thrive on a creative challenge, actively exploring, testing, and refining ideas to push the work further. You’ll be comfortably balancing multiple projects alongside helping to upskill and mentor the creative team.

You’re actively seeking out emerging tools and technology, using them to enhance your work and the work of the team whilst maintaining a focus on quality and craft. We don’t expect you to know everything, but we do expect a mindset that is proactive, collaborative, and unafraid to challenge the average.

We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive environment where everyone can feel appreciated for who they are and supported in their personal and professional growth. We encourage applications from people who may not necessarily ‘fit’ the typical branding agency mould. We’re looking for creative people looking for something different, because we are too.

While we have a flexible approach to remote working, we have a studio-first culture. With everyone on the team spending a minimum of 24 hours a week in the studio.

About you

You’re curious, considered, and calm, with a strong instinct for what makes motion design feel alive, intentional, and expressive.

You take ownership of your work, confidently guiding motion projects from early ideas through to final delivery with clarity, craft, and attention to detail.

You build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and inspire both teammates and clients through the quality and thinking behind your motion work.

You have strong motion experience, skilled in After Effects and are passionate about using technology to enhance your ways of working.

You bring a growth mindset to your practice, actively learning, seeking feedback, and evolving how motion is used across brand systems and experiences.

Your talent comes without ego. You see collaboration as a way to enhance ideas.

If there are any doubts you have or any adjustments you need, please just let us know.

Join our team
Step 2
Getting to know you

If you’ve caught our attention, we’d love to jump on a call. This will be with a member of the People & Culture Team. A chance for us to get to know you better and understand what it is that excites you most.

Step 3
In-person interview

At this stage, you’ll meet with a relevant Team Head or Manager at our London studio. Giving you a feel for Ragged Edge in the flesh. Here we want to catch a glimpse of how you think and your approach to work, so please bring along some examples to speak through.

Step 4
Final creative share

Following a phone check-in and briefing, you’ll be invited back to our studio to present your creative share. This is an opportunity to take us deeper into your thought processes. As well as the successes and missteps that got you here. Collaboration is key, so we’ll invite 5 or 6 members of different teams to join you in the room too.

Hints for difference
Be authentically you

Your ways of thinking mean more to us than where you worked last. We’re looking for talent at its most genuine.

Know your work

No one does better than you. Prepare to go deep into how you formed an idea or reached a conclusion. We want to be taken along for those rides.

Stay curious

We don’t find difference when we go with the flow. We find it when we ask difficult questions. Think about what you want to know from us and why.

Help us help you

Less of a hint, more of an ask. But could we have done better? Let us know in the feedback sessions. We love to listen.
