A powerful wallet built for a powerful blockchain. With Solfare, users can store, stake and swap their assets with ease. And the utmost security.

We helped them put that stability to the fore. With a rebrand to help Solflare compete with a host of better-known but less secure competitors.

Define

Crypto has a trust problem. Hype and jargon conceal a lawless landscape where scammers roam. Solflare stands apart. A Solana wallet built for the billionth user: secure, transparent, and inclusive. Our challenge was to tell that story, introducing Solflare to a broader audience who might otherwise choose a better-known but less secure solution.

All are welcome under the banner of Solfare. 

The idea

The brand frames Solfare as a Stronghold of the Free. A sanctum built for those who seek independence over their financial destiny.

Create

Back we went. To a time when banks were the pinnacle of trust and honour. When money was as safe as stacked coins in cast iron vaults. The identity borrows from those early financial codes and refines them for a digital era. We built the safest place on earth.

A bank of illustrations reclaim old money engraving for the new digital era. A digital tool enables the team to create new illustrations at will.

Verbal identity

While centralised banks have inadvertently kept the language of finance soft, fluffy and banal, Solflare’s voice captures the essence of a stronghold. Level-headed, battle-tested, and iron-willed.

A digital language built like a vault. Anchored by forged icons that deliver weight and authority. Light used sparingly. Navigation that locks tight. Type for non-negotiable clarity.

A global team needs a guiding light. Digital guidelines give Solflare a central point of reference. Wherever they are in the world. 

Commit

The Ragged Edge and Solflare teams worked in a range of different ways to bring the brand to life everywhere you’d expect. And plenty of places you wouldn’t. 

Website and product

We designed and wrote the website. And consulted on bringing the brand to life across the product experience.

Launch

Solflare went all in. From podcast launches and social media takeovers to a branded celebration in the Maldives.

The different reality

The rebrand had an immediate impact. The online launch campaign caught the imagination of the community, generating 44 million impressions, over 3,200 memes and one tattoo. And in the six months following the launch, an additional 1.5 million users joined Solflare. At the time of writing 3.5 million people use Solflare every month, holding over $20 billion in assets.
